We’re happy to help you plan routes and excursions. Of course there’s space for your bicycle or motorcycle, but don’t forget to bring your hiking boots!

HIKE & BIKE

The Auvergne is, as the local tourist information says, "a true paradise for hikers and cyclists, with Ambert as the ideal base." From personal experience, we can say we completely agree.

From La Vie Pradis, you can step straight into the hills and forests of the Livradois-Forez Regional Nature Park. There are short routes for a leisurely stroll, but also challenging hikes, such as to the waterfall near Job or a climb over the Col des Supeyres with stunning views.
We have enough material to choose nice walks from

Cycling: For cyclists, there are sporting challenges with routes over mountain passes like the Col du Béal, ranging from moderately difficult to truly challenging. There's also plenty to do for the seasoned mountain biker.

Culture, Nature, Adventure

Besides its beautiful landscape, the Auvergne also exudes tradition and history, and this comes to life in and around Ambert .

For example, visit Moulin Richard de Bas, where the papermaking process is still visible, or sample the Maison de la Fourme d'Ambert, dedicated to the region's famous blue cheese. Or join us for a mushroom hunt in the forest. And then, of course, prepare and eat your own delicious meal in the evening.

The local markets are bustling with atmosphere. Every Thursday morning in Ambert, there's a large market, but surrounding villages also have their own festivals and activities. The Agrivap tourist train takes you right through the beautiful surroundings.

The nature surrounding La Vie Pradis is truly magnificent. The Parc Naturel Régional Livradois-Forez invites you to explore, with its volcanic hills, crater lakes, and rugged rock formations. Nearby, you can also try rock climbing at the Rocher de la Volpie, a challenging and athletic activity. If you're more interested in exploring, Le Puy-en-Velay is a great day trip.

In our area, you can swim or kayak, for example, at Lac d'Aubusson or in the La Dore river. And in winter, there are plenty of opportunities for downhill skiing in Chalmazal or cross-country skiing at Domaine nordique Ambert – Crêtes du Forez.

And finally, this region offers various cultural events, such as the world music festival in Ambert (keep an eye on our agenda for our music week), and you can enjoy local artists in various places.

In short, freedom to experience.
Whether you come for culture, nature or adventure.
